Autumn & winter a bad time to photograph?
This one is going to be a nice short one!
To be very honest - spring and summer are often the best times of the year for a holiday cottage photoshoot but, for me, most interior images it makes no difference.
Even in summer, I prefer to shoot on a cloudy day rather than a day with wall to wall sunshine and blue skies. I find the light is far warmer, softer, and I have far more control with it - especially when I am adding in my own lighting to each image.
Don’t worry if your property looks darker during the autumn and winter months - This won’t affect an experienced interiors photographer as they have control over the brightness of each room.
Obviously, there is one huge negative to consider if you do decide to delay, and wait until next spring - Most people book their holiday and travel over the winter months!
So, if your new images don’t show until next spring, then you’ve quite possibly missed out on the business booking season of the year!
Finally, if you’re worried bout the wintery look outside, then negotiate a short visit to shoot some extra exterior photos in the spring - they often don’t take long and will be much cheaper than a full photoshoot.
If your main photographer has to travel a long way then there’s no reason why you can’t hire a local photographer as exterior images are far easier, and quicker to produce. Also, interior and exterior styles from different photographers don’t always need to make your business amazing.
