Food Props

Food props can add a life to your photos making your property look extra inviting and bring them to life.

Apart from just showing off the rooms in your accommodation, by adding props you’re actually encouraging guests to imagine being at, and enjoying your property.

I provide a selection of what I call static props like wine, books, coffee table books, champagne, wine etc but buy in a few perishable props.

I normally buy everything in for just £25 which includes my time.

The following is my general shopping list but I do deviate occasionally to make shoots a bit different.

You can always save yourself a little by purchasing these yourself.

Flowers - nothing too extravagant as the shot is about the room, not the flowers.
Croissants/Pastries - for the breakfast trays
Strawberries & Blueberries
Cake/Cookies - a small round sponge cake always shoots well.
Fruit - lemon and pears normally as they shoot really well.
Artisan bread, or just a similar nice look uncut loaf.

NB…. I do chop and change the products depending on the property and what’s available on the day. Sometimes I don’t use everything I bring. It really depends on the day and the feeling I get from the property..

I tend to just add a dusting of static and perishable props around the property - I don’t like to make them overwhelm the image - just add that little special touch to make the image, and property look warm, welcoming and interesting.
