Camera Settings ?!?!?
There are plenty of photographic sites on the internet where you can get some great tops, advice and inspiration.
However, one thing I do find amusing is when someone posts and amazing image and there’s a scary of activity with people asking what the camera settings used.
I’m sorry to say that this information is totally useless. The image its self is entirely dependent on the light source, quality and direction. The lens will determine how much is shown in the phot, the depth of field (maybe) and the lens’s focal length will determine any compression, or lack of it.
So, if I took an amazing photos and said, ISO100 Shutter speed 1/10th second Aperture f11 then in most cases, if you set up your camera with these setting then, unless the lighting source angle (could be a window, an open door or even a powerful flash light) and quality is exactly the same, then you’re wasting your time - you might be very lucky and get a good image.
If you don’t really believe me then the photo below was shot with a 24mm T/S Lense at f11, and shutter speeds between 1 and /18th second at ISO160… but in reality is was composed from around 6-8 shots sewn together later in post production using Photoshop - the ISO and f11 Aperture were both fixed but the shutter speed was varied to get the result that I wanted)
